Dr. Ricardo Perez graduated from the University of Maryland in College Park after which he went to medical school at the Central del Caribe School of Medicine in Bayamon, Puerto Rico. Dr. Perez did his internship and residency in Internal Medicine at the University of Virginia School Of Medicine where he was Chief Resident in his final year.

After residency, Dr. Perez and his family moved to Punta Gorda, Fl where he practiced for 5 years. In 2003 he established the first Hospitalist group in Charlotte County and worked closely with Primary Care physicians to bring outstanding and compassionate care to the community.

Dr. Perez is Board Certified in Internal Medicine. He is a member or the American College of Physician, the American Medical Association, the Florida Medical Association and the Society of Hospital Medicine.

Originally from Puerto Rico, Dr Perez has deep family ties to Central Florida where his family has resided since the 1970’s.
